From London to Marseille: Inside the Joga Bonito Run with EnzoFromTheBlock and Kyan
Football, funk, and rap culture collide on Joga Bonito, the new collaborative project from Paris-based rapper EnzoFromTheBlock and São Paulo's own Kyan. Built on the connection between French rap and Brazilian funk, the album draws inspiration from the streets, terraces, and football cages that shaped both artists long before they stepped into the studio together.
To bring the project to life beyond the music, we joined the duo on a journey through London, Paris, and Marseille. The goal: connect with local communities, create visual content, and document the world surrounding Joga Bonito.
London Sets the Tone
The journey began in London at Manor Place, a Nike x Palace-branded space transformed into a football playground. With a cage at its center and some of the city's key players passing through, it felt like the perfect setting to kick things off.
The Victory Lap crew, whose office is located inside the complex, welcomed us into the space while football matches played out just meters away. Between conversations, content shoots, and time spent around the cage, the atmosphere reflected exactly what Joga Bonito stands for: community, creativity, and football culture.
Elsewhere in the city, we stopped by the set of a Glasosita video shoot, visited the headquarters and warehouse of PastDown, and linked up with Slimane, founder of Crisp, shortly after the release of his Rasta-inspired take on the iconic Nike TN.
At the same time, the Champions League semi-finals were impossible to ignore. As PSG and Arsenal secured their spots in the final, the storyline became impossible to miss. For Enzo, a supporter of both clubs, football and real life suddenly started looking very similar.
Paris, PSG and a Full-Circle Moment
Back in Paris, the football narrative reached its peak.
Invited by Snipes, we attended a Paris Saint-Germain match, bringing one of the album's core influences directly into the experience. Few moments captured the spirit of Joga Bonito more clearly than watching PSG live while working on a project rooted in football culture.
The evening delivered another surprise when signed PSG jerseys were presented to both Enzo and Kyan, creating one of the most memorable moments of the entire trip.
Beyond football, Paris also connected us with EMET, the artist known for covering Nike TNs, garments, scooters, and virtually anything else in his signature
leopard-print spray-paint patterns. A cult figure in the city's creative underground, EMET's work perfectly reflects the DIY energy that continues to define contemporary street culture.
The days in Paris were filled with filming,
photography, and linking up with creatives connected to the project, further building the visual world surrounding Joga Bonito.
Marseille Brings Everyone Together
The final stop took us south to Marseille.
With cameras in hand, the crew headed to the iconic Marseille letters overlooking the city before linking up with Italian rapper Nabi Kichta.
By now, the trip had evolved far beyond a traditional album rollout.
Friends, collaborators, and creatives from across Europe began arriving in Marseille for the final days.
EscalopeViandeHache guided the crew through one of his favorite local food spots, while Spanish photographer Aleix Barau flew in specifically to shoot the project.
What started as a content trip gradually turned into something bigger: a meeting point for artists, photographers, brands, and communities connected by a shared appreciation for music, football, and street culture.
The World of Joga Bonito
More than just an album, Joga Bonito documents a cultural exchange between Paris and São Paulo.
It sits at the intersection of French rap, Brazilian funk, and football culture, translating the energy of each into both sound and visuals.
The trip through London, Paris, and Marseille became an extension of that vision. Every city added another layer to the story, every connection expanded the network, and every shoot helped shape the visual identity surrounding the project.
